Seasoned First Responders Learn of Surprising New Technique

"I was amazed how well they worked," was the reaction of civil protection specialists who experienced Scientology assists.

The Civil Protection Volunteers of the Church of Scientology in Italy, PROCIVICOS, long-trusted members of the disaster response community, shared their specialty—Scientology assists— with seasoned first responders from 30 organizations at a spring training camp in Milano. Scientology assists are techniques developed by Scientology Founder L. Ron Hubbard that address the mental and spiritual aspects of a person’s physical difficulties.

The training consisted of emergency situations in which people simulated being hurt and in need of help. Workshops focused on improving the effectiveness of first responders in times of disaster and civil unrest.

"I am feeling less tired. My back is better. Before, I was having a hard time standing up and walking. Now I have no pain and I'm fine. The effectiveness and the velocity of the result are incredible."

The Scientology Volunteer Ministers of PROCIVICOS held two workshops—one on Scientology assists and the other on communication techniques.  One of the PROCIVICOS volunteers demonstrated a Scientology assist on a soldier participating in the workshops. He was very surprised by the result.

“I am feeling less tired,” he said. “My back is better. Before, I was having a hard time standing up and walking.  Now I have no pain and I’m fine.  The effectiveness and the velocity of the result are incredible.” He admitted he was skeptical before he received the assist but has now changed my mind.

His reaction generated a great deal of interest from others attending,  who came to the PROCIVCOS booth to get copies of the Assists for Illnesses and Injuries  booklet. After the workshop, many others visited the bright yellow Volunteer Ministers tent to ask for an assist of their own.

One young member of a civil protection group was so happy with the result of his assist, he asked to have a Volunteer Ministers group attend the training camps he is planning for his own organization.

During the training sessions actors played the roles of victims in various emergency scenarios. The Volunteer Ministers delivered assists and communication techniques to these “victims” who were surprised how much better they felt after receiving them, even though they were not really hurt. At the end of the emergency drills, they too went to the Volunteer Ministers tent to learn more about these techniques.

The Volunteer Ministers program was expressly intended for use by Scientologists and non-Scientologists alike.  Anyone of any culture or creed may train as a Volunteer Minister and use these tools to help their families and communities.  And all are welcome to do so.
