Extending the campaign launched in San Francisco before the NFL championship game, Truth About Drugs volunteers donate booklets to local police to bolster drug education and prevention.
San Francisco, CA, February 25, 2016 (Newswire.com) - To assist the San Francisco Police Department in fighting the scourge of drug addition, volunteers from the Church of Scientology of San Francisco donated 10,000 copies of The Truth About Drugs booklets to t city’s 10 local police stations.
The donation was part of a citywide drug education initiative launched by the San Francisco Church in the period leading up to the NFL’s championship game on February 7. Each station was given displays of The Truth About Drugs booklets to place where the general public can access them, with significant additional copies for use by school resource officers, in the department’s mentoring and community programs.
The Scientologists also offered to provide workshops to train officers, reserve police officers and other volunteers to deliver drug education using The Truth About Drugs curriculum.
These materials have been used by 1,197 U.S. police departments in their drug prevention programs.
