Scientology Volunteer Ministers Bid Farewell to Puerto Nariño in Colombian Amazon, leave behind friends and new Volunteer Ministers groups.
Colombia, , January 31, 2016 (Newswire.com) - The Scientology Volunteer Ministers Amazon Goodwill Tour completed its stay in the Colombian Amazon, its final location, the town of Puerto Nariño some 75km from the city of Leticia.
The Scientology Volunteer Ministers gained a new respect for green living. This uniquely ecology-conscious town on the shore of the Amazon has made living in cooperation with nature at art form. The only motorized vehicles in the town are an ambulance and a recycling truck that collects from the recycling bins located on every corner.
But theirs was not the only changed point of view—they leave the townspeople with an equally unique perspective—that no matter the difficulty, something can be done about it.
That is the motto of the Volunteer Minister and they come armed with tools to repair or improve virtually any difficulty in life.
The team delivered Scientology Volunteer Ministers courses and workshops delivered to visitors to their bright yellow tent and to schools and community groups, including the local police civil defense force.
The Volunteer Ministers Amazon Goodwill Tour was established a decade ago to reach out with help to remote communities, providing village leaders with effective technology to defend their way of life from encroaching “civilization” and to proof up the local residents with the skills they need.
For example, one of the courses most in demand is The Technology of Study. Scientology Founder L. Ron Hubbard’s discovered the barriers to studying anything and techniques to overcome these barriers. This technology is available in a simple course that the Goodwill Tour delivers free of charge, as it does with all of its training in 19 different subjects.
The program, created in the mid 1970s by L. Ron Hubbard and sponsored by the Church of Scientology International as a religious social service, constitutes one of the world’s largest and most visible international independent relief forces.
The Volunteer Minister “helps his fellow man on a volunteer basis by restoring purpose, truth and spiritual values to the lives of others.”
A global network of Volunteer Ministers mobilizes in times of man-made and natural disasters, answering the call wherever needed. Collaborating with some 1,000 organizations and agencies, they have utilized their skill and experience in providing physical support and spiritual aid at hundreds of disaster sites.
