Pasadena, CA, February 1, 2016 (Newswire.com) - Just days after the anniversary of the liberation of the Nazi concentration camp in Auschwitz, Poland during World War II, a Holocaust survivor will speak in Pasadena at an event designed to remind people of the horrors of persecution and genocide.
The event is in keeping with the United Nations International Day of Commemoration in Memory of the Victims of the Holocaust.

The Church of Scientology of Pasadena is hosting the Sunday, January 31, 2016 event in collaboration with a Pasadena Commission and the Los Angeles based Citizens Commission on Human Rights (CCHR).
Eden Stein, President of the Church of Scientology, said, CCHR, which was cofounded in 1969 by the Church of Scientology and Professor of Psychiatry Emeritus Dr. Thomas Szasz, is presenting the event as an educational program to instill the memory of the tragedy in future generations to prevent genocide from occurring again.

Holocaust survivor Mara Langholz will be the keynote speaker during the event that starts at 3:30 p.m. Pasadena Human Relations Commissioner Nat Nehdar will be Master of Ceremonies.
Stein said other notable speakers include representatives from other religious organizations and human rights advocates in the Pasadena area.
Stein hopes the event will also educate people about more recent incidents of persecution which continue to occur in different parts of the world.
