Celebrated Pianist to Make Beautiful Music for Police Athletic League at the Church of Scientology's Historic Fort Harrison

Brahms, Bach and Chopin will 'chip in' for a good cause on the 6th of February at Clearwater's historic Fort Harrison.

Saturday February the 6th, Italian concert pianist Francesco Attesti will perform a selection of Brahms, Bach and Chopin to raise funds for the Pinellas Sheriff’s Police Athletic League (PAL). The concert will take place in the Crystal Ballroom of the historic Fort Harrison, the international religious retreat for the Church of Scientology.

The event will begin at 7pm with a catered reception featuring Italian-themed hors d’oeuvres. Guests will be invited to their seats at 7:30 for the program. There is no cost to attend, but attendees are encouraged to make donations to the Sheriff’s Police Athletic League.

"I wish I had the words to describe the performance quality and the talent of Francesco. You have to hear it to believe it."

John Funk, Event organizer

“I wish I had the words to describe the performance quality and the talent of Francesco,” said John Funk, event organizer. “You have to hear it to believe it.”

Born in Italy, Attesti started playing piano at the age of six and gave his first concert at eleven. He has performed all over the world, including at the prestigious Mozarteum of Salzberg, the Philharmonic Hall of St. Petersburg and the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory.

“This is the second year Mr. Attesti has performed in our Crystal Ballroom,” said Lisa Mansell, Public Affairs Director for the Church of Scientology in Clearwater. “His concert follows a tradition that is part of the woof and warp of the Fort Harrison – contribution to the community.”

Ms. Mansell references the nearly 90 years of special events, charity galas, concerts and fund raisers at the Fort Harrison. “From pianist Eddie Dean who went to perform on Broadway for George Gershwin to modern composers and performers such as multi-winning Grammy Jazz Artist Chick Corea – these performers epitomize the spirit of Clearwater.”

Organizers are hoping that on the 6th, the spirit of Clearwater includes generosity and charity towards the children of Pinellas County.

The benefactor of the event, the Pinellas Sheriff’s PAL, has been assisting at-risk youth with a safe environment for sports activities and after-school tutoring and academics since 2001.

Those wishing to receive an invitation to attend the festivities are encouraged to call (727) 599-3864 or (727) 521-5315.
